Child abuse is more wide spread than society realises. We warn our children about stranger danger when the reality is many are abused within their own homes, by visitors or family members.
It's a taboo subject still hidden and shunned by people who won't admit to knowing of its existence or refusing to believe it happened. The full degree of this heinous crime against young and old is just beginning to materialize.
Children who live with physical, emotional and or sexual abuse, will be forever affected throughout theirs lives. Many come from a dysfunctional family with a lineage of abusers from generations before them stopping the dysfunctional lineage is a hard task, but one that can be attained with counseling and most of all the unwavering support from their own families.
Many parents deny abuse took place within the home wrongly believing society will hold them accountable for not protecting the victim, some deny because they are frightened of the abuser and some because the whole idea is to abhorrent to deal with. Either way, the preparatory seeks out his victims carefully and will mould the child into what he desires.
The blame should lay firmly with the preparatory who relies on the reactions of society to be able to move around from home to home picking his victims as easily as you would strawberries in a field an old saying springs to mind.
"Silence is golden"
I was a rottweiler when it came to looking after my children but only because of my own experiences. The truth is if a paedophile wants a child, chances are he or she will seek them out and attain their goal. We have to start talking about abuse openly and honestly, it's not a crime to say...
"I had an idea it was going on"
it's not a crime to be scared and silenced through fear and intimidation. But it is a crime and criminal to call the victim a liar allowing the paedophile to move onto his next victim because you were ashamed and riddled with guilt.
Bruises don't materialize on there own and a child can cry without tears we need to be more vigilant and open, children react to a situation through behavior, god gave us sight because if all else fails our eyes will always see after all, they are the windows to our souls.
Oh I have just remembered the second line to that old saying
"Silence is golden......but my eyes still see!" |
