I can really open my arms out to esther. It is not easy to speak aloud to something that happened in your childhood. I was 1 year old when my child sexual abuse began and it did not finish until I was 8 years old. What you may think was the end of things did not end there, he was a sexual predator who preyed on little boys subsequently 8 boys were involved. My uncle was given 12 years, my sentence was and still is life. He served just 8 years and that was the most horrif ordeal I ever encountered as he came searching for me, where subsequently i was raped.

No one wants to tell of their past when it is horrific. i am lucky as I did have some good childhood memories which I can reflect on, but I still have the childhood abuse which is part of my past and I think which has made me stronger in my latter years.

I feel unless you have experienced some sort of abuse you are not in the position to judge or pass critisism, no matter how long you keep it to yourself, or decide to speak out. The more people who speak out then the more voices are heard, but we are still cheated of the correct prison sentences. A child abuser should be given more prison time than they get now. it is our poor government and judges who let us the abused down.

I am now 50 years old, and the only way i could come to terms with my abuse was to write down every detail chapter by chapter and look it in the eye as I read it. I am also like esther, one of the lucky ones as I survived abuse, I could have easily have been the victim of a child abuse case that involved myself being murdered.

Too many people are quick to judge you if you are an adult, but at the time of your abuse and being a child can you truely be judged, for is it not true that a child is not responsible and could not even comprehend the facts of what was happening to them at such a young age.

Although this kid has a right to reply some one should explain to her that the courts are the ones who made the decision to jail her mum, not any one else. They would have had all the circumstances and know the situations of the home life– so dont go attacking others because they have an opinion. In America your mom would have got a lot longer and you would be arrested for threatening behavior with your reply. Your reply does show your lack of education may be if you attended school hun and learned your english you would put the same energy into learning as you have replying.

my mum is a very good mum to me not even ur services (welfare) could manage to get me to school it was my choice not to attend and my mum did no wrong in the situation over then try to make me attend school you had to be there to understands so u can shut the fukk up bad mouthing her as u aint no fukking better!!!!

This program affected me so profoundly I was unable to sleep as I was cast back to my own childhood with images of the same kind of abuse. I wish it possible that we could catch a child being abused by a parent. Physical and emotional abuse are damaging torture and as they held down the young female patient and venomously spat that she was ugly and directed derogative comments whilst three people held her down, I started to cry. This scene evoked rage within me as I was transported back to an 11 year old, who was treated the same way. So I not only watched this poor girls pain I relived it with her

I wanted to reach into the television and help the vulnerable girl, as I knew she would be hurt far deeper then any physical beaten could yield.

I have discussed this program with a few friends and some have said it shouldn’t be shown as they found it too upsetting; they had the choice of turning off the television or turning it over! These people in Castlebeck didn’t have that luxury.

Others have said it was disturbing and others have no real opinion. But the one thing we all had in common was the horror and disgust that is was ignored when reported.

I am thankful it was shown because the young girl had tried to tell her mum she was being beaten and abused. Much like many parents of family in these homes we don’t believe it could happen, now we know differently. Do I believe it’s a one off case- NO.

I believe its more widespread although I also believe there is more good homes than bad.

But abusing the most vulnerable is unforgivable not only should these bullies be prosecuted and jailed they should also be made to return all wages paid to them because lets face it, they didn’t do their job- did they.

Lets just hope none of them are single parents and plead the 8th!!!

Many believe this as truth but recently in the papers their are children returned home after several years of abduction.
I hope if this little one is dead it was swift and if she is alive she is with some one who wanted a child so desperately they paid for her to be abducted. I dont like to think of the 3rd alternative- either way may she be at peace where ever she may lay her head this night!

this little girl is dead in my opinion, many things point to this sad fact, nothing at all points to her being alive, so she won’t have to worry about anything as she won’t be going home to her parents, she is in heaven

In reply to Finn, not once do I see a rant on education and Sharon is right to bring about the comments made by Mr. Starkey, he had no right to use the size of a pupil to bully him. As for the spelling mistake you need to correct your own and practice what you preach.
